Welcome to Sacramento – America’s Farm to Fork Capital! And also, of course, The City of Trees. Sacramento is a city where community is abundant, restaurants thrive with innovative and creative dishes, newly planned infrastructure is exciting and beautiful, and where families prosper and flourish! Sacramento has an evolving contemporary culture and in 2002, the Harvard University Civil Rights Project conducted for Time magazine named Sacramento “America’s Most Diverse City”. We are family, friends, Innovators, thrill-seekers and entrepreneurs. Sacramento was named after the Sacramento River, which forms its western border. The river was named by Spanish cavalry officer Gabriel Moraga for the Most Holy Sacrament, referring to the Catholic Eucharist.
Sacramento has long been known for its great location. A location where you can snow ski and surf in the same day. Mountains locally to the east and the ocean a short drive to the west. We have great weather and beautiful winters where snow can be seen in the distant mountain ranges.
With cobbled streets and many historic buildings from the 1850’s and 1860’s, Old sacramento offers a step back in time while enjoying the conveniences of the modern era. You can see families strolling the streets eating popcorn and candy apples while horse-drawn carriages pass by. In view, is the Delta King. A historic ship built in 1925 that offers a restaurant, bar and is an attractive venue for weddings and parties.
Another great attraction to Sacramento is our sports teams. The Sacramento Kings basketball team, which plays at the Golden 1 Center in the heart of downtown. The Sacramento Rivercats which is a AAA affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, and The Sacramento Republic FC, a USL pro soccer team that plays at Papa Murphy's park and will soon be playing at a newly built stadium in the Old Railyard near downtown Sacramento.
